There are some who believe that Wikileaks activists should be rounded up and thrown into jail. Whether you are one of them or not is irrelevant to this story, but we can count DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and NBC’s Chuck Todd among those who wish they were silenced.
Friday’s release by Wikileaks of more than 20,000 emails both sent and received by the Democrat National Committee from January 2015 and May 2016 prove to be damaging to both. One email from Schultz to Todd demanded he set-up a meeting with her to discuss negative coverage of the DNC’s actions against then Democrat candidate Bernie Sanders’ campaign. “Chuck, see below. I would like to discuss this with you today.”

The leaked emails prove what Sanders supporters have been claiming all along: the Democrat National Committee was skewing the primary to the Clinton Campaign. This revelation could send many Sanders voters away from the Clinton campaign in November.
The email from Wasserman Schultz to Todd serves as credible evidence of an attempt by Wasserman Schultz and the DNC to manipulate the media into ending negative “Morning Joe” coverage. Specifically, the email intimated that Wasserman Schultz wanted Todd to silence “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, saying the negative coverage “must stop.”
Todd told Mediaite Friday that Wasserman Schultz’s email was basically a non-issue that was irrelevant to MSNBC’s decisions about programming.
“I think it’s clear what it was. Someone complaining about coverage,” Mr. Todd said. “Something that happens daily from every campaign we interact with.”
Many on social media were not satisfied with Todd’s explanation. Some requested that Todd evidence communications from other campaigns and/or political party chairs that would corroborate his statement.
The exposure of emails proving Wasserman Schultz attempted to intervene with the press to eliminate coverage of the DNC’s weighted support of the Clinton campaign validates what many Sanders supporters have long suspected: the DNC was unethically – and perhaps criminally – giving an advantage to the Clinton Campaign.
Sanders supporters and advocates cited the unusual national debate times secured by the DNC. Many thought the juxtaposing of the DNC debates against tough rival broadcasting and scheduling them on low audience nights hurt Sanders nationally.
While most of us know what hurt Sanders was that he is a Socialist, the idea that a major political party would be in the tank for one campaign out of all others should be insanely alarming to Democrats. It proves that rank-and-file Democrats – and their votes – mean nothing to the elitist Progressives who now rule as overlords to their once proud party.
Perhaps it is time for the true Democrats to take their party back from their Marxist-Progressive uber-fuhrers.
