CNN Host LOSES IT, Demands Michael Phelps Turn Over US Flag For INSANE Reason

The world we find ourselves living in today is so often completely divorced from common sense and logic. Political correctness is running amok, and what just happened to Michael Phelps is a perfect example of how complicit the mainstream media are in furthering the liberal agenda.

CNN host W. Kamau Bell took to the airwaves and said Michael Phelps should be forced to relinquish the honor of carrying the American flag and leading the United States Olympic Team into the stadium ceremony in Rio de Janeiro because he was the wrong race and the wrong color!

Bell hosts the United Shades of America series on CNN.

The team leader and flag bearer was an honor bestowed after a vote by the athletes comprising Team USA, BizPacReview reports.

The athlete coming in second place in the vote was Ibtihaj Muhammad, who is Muslim, African-American, and a woman.

W. Kamau Bell said Michael Phelps is a “tall, successful, rich white guy” who clearly didn’t “need the honor.”

“With 22 Olympic medals, you are already the most decorated athlete in Olympic history,” Bell added in an op-ed about the swimmer being chosen as the flag bearer.

Typical liberal response: the people, in this case the men and women who work exceedingly hard for many years to make the Olympic team, do not deserve to choose for themselves who will lead them into the arena ceremony.

“Muhammad carrying the flag would be much bigger than your one moment. It would be a symbol for our country in this moment when we are mostly known for one of the most contentious, controversial, scandal-ridden, hateful, xenophobic, jingoistic, and just generally unlikable presidential elections in recent memory. This is at a time when we could use some more symbols of unity and togetherness,” Bell also wrote.

Folks like Bell want to impose “fairness” on the nation instead of rewarding excellence or the free will of the people to make decisions for themselves.

Bell claimed the idea of Phelps stepping aside for a second place finisher in the flag bearer vote was “already a done deal,” but Kamau, like liberals in general, was proven wrong once again.
