As we turn the corner into the home stretch of the 2016 General Election, sovereignty is a big issue. Where Donald Trump is focused on maintaining and securing US sovereignty, it appears Hillary Clinton has some other thoughts on the subject.
“As a presidential candidate, the amount of foreign cash the Clintons have amassed from the Persian Gulf states is ‘simply unprecedented,’” the Daily Caller News Foundation reports national security analyst Patrick Poole as saying.
A new investigation indicates Bill and Hillary Clinton have received at least $100 million from repressive Arab State countries, their leaders, and their elite, illustrating a political vulnerability for the embattled Democrat presidential nominee and crippling the claim she can be independent minded when carrying out Middle East policies.
Poole says the only conclusion that can be arrived at is the regimes are “buying access.” He names the Saudis and Kuwaitis, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE as the big-money players in this cabal. The financial relationships present massive and clear conflicts of interest.
From these governments alone, the Clinton Foundation has taken over $85 million in donations, and that amount is only from the five Persian Gulf states and their monarchs. Additional monies have been “donated” to the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation from high-value individuals and institutions.
Human rights groups have charged the five Persian Gulf states – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates – engage regularly and as practice numerous human rights abuses. The five States import hundreds of thousands of foreign laborers who work for incredibly low wages. This group includes, in large part, female “domestic workers” (read: sex industry workers) who have no labor rights and often face exploitation and sexual abuse.
Yet, as Secretary of State, many programs brought to bear under Hillary Clinton’s reign as Secretary of State sought to legitimize these governments and their leaders, in full view of the knowledge these human rights abuses were taking place and, in fact, sanctioned by the States.
This ongoing financial relationship with despotic Persian Gulf states not only damages Hillary Clinton’s claim to be a supporter of labor rights, as well as her hubris claim to be a champion of women, it calls into question whether her actions while Secretary of State didn’t help to endanger American lives both in those five states and throughout the greater Middle East.
News now comes that on top of an FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information, it now appears a second investigation has been started into whether Mrs. Clinton used her position as Secretary of State in a “pay to play” scheme with these five Persian Gulf states.
With so many scandals – and now a scandal that proves the Clintons have used their political stations for self-enrichment at the cost of American security – the question must be asked: How can anyone still support this woman in her quest for the Oval Office? For that matter, how can anyone ever trust a Clinton ever again?
