More than a century ago, Winston Churchill saw the writing on the wall. Unfortunately, too few leaders listened, and they allowed political correctness to rule the day.
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism [Islam] lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy,” Winston Churchill wrote at the tender age of 25.
In his book called “The River War,” Winston Churchill referenced the coming of a “fanatical frenzy” that would cause blood to spill in the streets. The frenzy would cause “thousands” of loyal soldiers, sans any fear of dying for their cause, to rise up.
Yep, that sure sounds like the radical Islamic terrorism threat we are faced with today. In just ten days, we will watch the 45th president of the United States take the oath of office – with vehicles used as barriers to prevent a “truck attack” by Muslim extremists.
Our world changed forever on September 11, 2001. After a massive terror attack on American soil, no citizen has been able to walk into any public space without the threat of being attacked by a radical Islamic terrorist hanging over their head.
The 9/11 attacks were not the first time radical Muslims had attacked Americans. Democrat President Bill Clinton ignored the threat posed by militant Muslims and disregarded the power the radicals possessed.
When the USS Cole was attacked by Osama bin Laden-trained extremists, Clinton issued only a mild response, and he, along with his cohorts in the Democrat Party, considered the attack a fluke, a one-off that could surely never happen again.
The FIRST World Trade Center bomber, in 1993, was also a radical Muslim. Again, the mounting ranks of Islamic militants were quickly dismissed, allowing them to grow until they became exactly what Winston Churchill had predicted.
“All know how to die, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith,” Churchill also noted.
Churchill also warned about how quickly Islam was spreading, as Clash Daily notes. The religion has spread even further since the former United Kingdom prime minister made his youthful statement. As the Muslim faith spread, so did the extremist sect huddled safely inside the religion.
The Obama way of looking at radical Islamic terrorism and dealing with attack threats comes to an abrupt end on January 20, 2017 when Donald J. Trump is sworn in as the 45th president of the United States!
